Surfing instructor Rory Russell moved to Hawaii with his family in 1964 and lived on Oahu's famous North Shore for 38 years. While growing up on the North Shore, Rory was constantly honing his surfing skills, becoming an accomplished professional surfer. <<< A Surf Champion
Rory has won several world class surf championships including Waimea Pro in Brazil in 1975; All Japan pro in Chiba, Japan in 1976; and Oahu North Shore Lightning Bolt Surf Championships in 1977. Besides his first place wins, Rory has also achieved numerous other titles in surfing events all around the world including in Japan, Indonesia, Australia, California, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, South Africa, Morocco, and Portugal. |

In addition to his TV and film work, Rory has been involved with numerous promotional appearances in TV and magazines: Surfing, Surfer, and Surfing World. As a surf instructor, Rory has been involved with teaching people how to surf for 20 years, and his students have included Bill Murray who he taught to surf while in Indonesia.
